Firepool stared at the StarClan cat approaching her. "Hello....Pearlstar," she said. How did I know her name? she thought, puzzled. She felt a new knowledge of EVERYTHING now that she was here.

Firepool spun around to see Hawkwing rake his claws into Twilightpaw's belly. "NOOOO!!!! No, please, not her!" she cried. She looked at Pearlstar. "Why must she go?" she gasped.

Before Pearlstar could reply, a new arrival entered. It was Twilightpaw. "Firepool!" she called, running towards her mentor.

"No!! Twilightpaw! Come back!" Featherwhisper yowled. She had entered the apprentice's dream, to see what she thought about at her last living moments. But this...
Firepool looked down at her former apprentice. "Hello, Twilightpaw. Hello, Featherwhisper," she meowed.
"Don't make her leave!" Featherwhisper yowled.

"I...uh, didn't die. I entered your dream. Oh, please Firepool! Let me take her back! She needs to live longer!" Featherwhisper said.
Firepool looked from Twilightpaw to Featherwhisper. She saw a vision in her mind. "Go, take her back. She needs to live longer," she mewed at last.
Featherwhisper looked up at her friend. "Thank you!" she meowed.
"Wait." Firepool said simply.
Suddenly, smoke and patches of ginger rose from the forest. Blood swelled up around Featherwhisper's paws, and the air stank of it. "Only smoke and ginger can rescur our Clans" Firepool rasped. She faded away, leaving Featherwhisper and Twilightpaw alone in the blood filled clearing.
"Wake up, Twilightpaw!" Featherwhisper yowled.

"The dogs are there," Firepool whispered to Pearlstar. Suddenly, the former DawnClan leader appeared in front of her. "Cloudstar?" she mewed.
"Yes, Hawkwing killed me. I am here to live in the depths of the StarClan forest," he meowed.
Firepool nodded her head. "Come this way, then," Firepool mewed.

Cloudstar shook his head. "I thought I could trust Hawkwing! And we have to make him leader soon...." he growled. "I should've picked Burningclaw! He should be the rightful leader!" he hissed.
Firepool nodded. "Burningclaw is loyal. Hawkwing killed both of us in cold-blood. And now he will be leader. We need to send the medicine cat a sign to tell her that Burningclaw should be deputy."
"I will," Cloudstar meowed. He turned away and wakled into the deep forest, until he found a clearing so he could wait for the medicine cat.
